OPmobility launches a group-wide program to optimize its transport operations and accelerate its supply chain transformation

OPmobility launches a group-wide strategic initiative to set new standards of excellence in the management of its flow of materials from suppliers to customers. Deployed across all Business Groups, built on regional Transport Control Towers (TCT) and using a state-of-the-art Transportation Management System (TMS), this program aims to enhance the overall performance and resilience of the Group’s supply chain. It will improve the productivity of its transport operations and contribute to reducing its environmental footprint thanks to a reduction of its transport-related CO₂ emissions.

By pooling teams, standardizing and digitalizing its transport processes, OPmobility will improve end-to-end visibility and increase operational efficiency across its organization for the benefit of its plants and automotive customers. The deployment of a cutting-edge Transportation Management System (TMS) will notably enhance the reliability of its transport operations, particularly just-in-time deliveries. The project will more generally strengthen the Group’s supply chain through the development of transport expertise, harmonized ways of working and dedicated governance.

The project is fully aligned with OPmobility’s financial and sustainability ambitions. It will improve the productivity of its transport operations, which notably manage a fleet of about 1,300 trucks per day to serve its 152 plants in 28 countries. It will also contribute to reducing its environmental footprint by decreasing the number of kilometers traveled and lowering its CO₂ emissions related to transport.

Gérald Mentil, Chief Performance Officer of OPmobility, said: “This program is a key lever to enhance the performance and resilience of our supply chain and make it one of the automotive industry’s benchmarks. By deploying a fully digital and integrated approach to transport management and building stronger transport management capabilities across the Group, we are not only digitalizing our operations but also improving reliability, increasing efficiency, and strengthening our ability to adapt to a more complex and volatile environment. It also supports our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our operations while delivering greater value to our customers.”
