French Prime Minister Manuel Valls inaugurated the Paris Motor Show on September 30th, 2016. He was welcomed on the Plastic Omnium booth by Laurent Burelle Chairman and CEO, who presented the Group’s latest innovations in the fields of weight reduction and de-pollution.

Plastic Omnium, the world leader in exterior components and modules and in fuel systems, is stepping up its research to contribute to the future evolution of cars, by continuing to further reduce vehicle emissions.

The company is already present on the emissions control market with its SCR system, as well as its pressurized fuel tank systems for hybrid vehicles. It is now positioned as an actor in vehicle propulsion systems using hydrogen and fuel cells. At the Paris Motor Show (Mondial de l’Automobile), the Group is presenting a high-pressure hydrogen storage prototype that can provide considerable autonomy and a recharge time of only 3 minutes, versus several hours for electric vehicles. Fuel cells will allow electric vehicles to overcome problems related to autonomy and recharge times that are currently restricting their development. Plastic Omnium and the Israeli company ELBIT Systems have just created a start-up, POCellTech, working with fuel cells and supercapacitors. A joint research center recently opened in Caesarea, Israel. Plastic Omnium provides its automobile expertise in the management of electronic systems and fluids. The company’s know-how, and ELBIT Systems’ existing developments are coming together to create a fuel cell with very low precious metal content, as well as a new range of supercapacitors.

Ronan Stephan is appointed Scientific Director of Compagnie Plastic Omnium. Ronan Stephan reports to the Chairman and CEO’s and is a member of the Executive Committee.
Ronan Stephan (56 years old), ENSI, doctorate in Science, is a physicist who first specialized in research on magnetic and superconductive materials.
Compagnie Plastic Omnium announces the disposal of two subsidiaries in its Environment Division.
As announced, Plastic Omnium has completed today the acquisition of the Faurecia’s Exterior Systems business for an enterprise value of 665 million euros.
Over the first half of 2016, our growth, which hit 11% at constant exchange rates, accelerated, and we have once again converted this growth into a more solid increase of our profitability.
The European Commission has just authorized Plastic Omnium’s acquisition of Faurecia’s Exterior Systems business, subject to a certain number of disposal commitments.
These commitments represent approximately €700 million in revenue, half of which are composed of disposal of the French sites and a Spanish site for the bumper business, and half made up of the front-end module assembly business in Germany.

In anticipation of high growth across the hybrid market (5.5 million cars in 2020 versus 2 million in 2015), Plastic Omnium is introducing a new-generation plastic tank for plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The plastic tank, featuring new INWIN technology, is 40% lighter than the metal model currently fitted on the majority of plug-in hybrid vehicles. It is designed to withstand the pressure created by fuel vapor when the vehicle is in electric-drive mode over long periods of time. The technology developed by Plastic Omnium is covered by 163 patents.
For the 1st quarter of 2016, economic sales1 reported by Compagnie Plastic Omnium reached €1,536.2 million, up by 6.0% over the 1st quarter of 2015 (up 7.8% at constant exchange rates).
Consolidated sales2 came to €1,300.8 million at constant exchange rates over the period (up by 6.7%).
On April 18, 2016, Plastic Omnium executed the SPA (Sale & Purchase Agreement) for the purchase of Faurecia’s Exterior Systems’ business.
The procedures with the employee representatives were completed.
The transaction must now be submitted to the European Commission and to other relevant competition authorities.
The Board of Directors of Compagnie Plastic Omnium co-opted Lucie Maurel Aubert, the Chief Executive Officer of Banque Martin Maurel, as an Independent Director.
The Annual Shareholders’ Meeting which will meet next April 28 will ratify this appointment.
The Board of Directors of Plastic Omnium now numbers five women among its thirteen members.

Plastic Omnium strengthens its positions in Belgium by winning the Gand contract for the supply, computerized management and maintenance of 225 underground containers. This contract, worth a total of €3.3 million, brings the group’s market share to 35% of all underground containers in Belgium. Plastic Omnium supports IVAGO, the inter-communal union for waste management in Gand and its surrounding areas, with its proactive environmental approach aimed at promoting the sorting of waste at source. Between 2016 and 2020, voluntary waste drop-off points will be installed to enable the local authority to bill 10,000 residents of the community for their unsorted residual waste. |

Pursuant to the authorization given by the Shareholders meeting of April 30th 2014, the Board of Directors of Compagnie Plastic Omnium, in a meeting held on February 24th 2016, decided to proceed to the cancellation of 1,100,000 treasury shares, representing 0.72% of the share capital of the company.

This is the highest supplier honor the carmaker awards and is given in recognition of companies that have performed outstandingly over the previous year.
