This technology ensures that every headlight, taillight, and signal operates with optimal efficiency and responsiveness, adapting to various driving conditions in real-time. OPmobilityproviding stand-alone Light Control Units to drive latest lighting technologies but also enable embedded electronics for all requested customer products.
Our innovative solutions combine lighting technologies focus on optical designs in combination with electronics and software to create advanced intelligent features, such as welcome scenarios or safety messages. Integrated into a car’s body shell, these features ensurea highly reliable and visible communication. We offer a wide range of solutions for rear and front signal lighting – from standardized to highly customized approaches with complex design features comprising software and bus-communication fulfilling functional safety requirements. Through the exact control of the LED positioning, we gain a high level of precision which is essential for light guide applications.
Our Lighting software enables advanced features such as adaptive lighting, where headlights automatically adjust to the driving environment, enhancing visibility and safety. It also powers dynamic light displays, allowing for personalized and responsive illumination that reacts to driving conditions and driver inputs.
Electronic Modules
HEADLAMP CONTROL MODULES
Headlamp control modules (HCMs) are the brains that control the functions inside the lamps. Based on our in-house algorithm, they process information received from various sensors on the vehicle, such as camera images, steering wheel rotation, acceleration and speed, and pass it on to the headlamp, which automatically adjusts the light beam to ensure maximum visibility and safety for the driver.
LED DRIVER MODULES
LEDs in headlamps are powered by LED driver modules (LDM). The modules are often designed as cross-vehicle components, with software ensuring communication with the vehicle infrastructure, diagnosing functionality and protecting against overheating under extreme conditions. Via BUS connections, it also supports reactions in the event of failures and flashing.
LED MODULES
LED modules are the true light engines for optical systems. They use a variety of low-cost flexible printed circuit boards or insulated metal substrates to expand design options to handle high thermal loads. The latter being a key element in the design of these modules to ensure that the lighting electronics will last the life of a vehicle.
MECHATRONIC SOLUTIONS
Although the trend is clearly toward digital solutions with a minimum of moving parts, many mechatronic solutions are still used in vehicle lighting. Here, automatic headlight alignment and bi- and multifunctional mechanisms must be used to adjust the headlight beam according to the current vehicle load, traffic density and driving conditions.
